Davenport took the season series Friday night with a 7-3 dismantling of Oakland.
Rochester, MI With the famed Good Luck Duck on the line Oakland faltered against rival Davenport in a Friday night contest 7-3. At the midway point of the game Oakland led 2-1 but could not hold off the high flying Davenport offense as the Panthers would score 4 un answered goals.
"It was not the way we wanted to send out our senior class on senior night and it was certainly not how we wanted to go into the National Tournament. We need to put the game behind us, focus on Oklahoma and go from there," stated Head Coach Sean Hogan.
Matt Kowalczyk, Jesse Worrel and Brett Huagh netted goals for Oakland. Senior Andrew Hansen started between the pipes and faced 36 Panther shots. Former Oakland netminder Chris Joswiak started in net for Davenport and faced 33 Oakland opportunities.
Sending off the Seniors: The three members of the Oakland Hockey senior class played their final home game at the ONYX on Friday night. Andrew Hansen, Steve Piccolli, and Brent Cooper were honored after the Davenport game.
