ACHA All Star Game a Success: Whites 6 Blues 3

Wooster, OH The White Team defeated the Blue Team 6-3 in the 2nd Annual ACHA Men's Division 1 All-Star Game.  Jim Gehring of West Chester paced the way with 3 goals, and was named the 1st Star.  Brent Cornelius from Iowa State was named the 2nd Star, and Jordan Pringle from Illinois was named the 3rd Star.

Earlier, in the Shootout Competition, Cornelius edged out Gerhing in the 4th round to win.  Shane Allen from Penn State Berks came in 3rd Place.

Paul Marshall from Ohio won the Goaltender's Shootout, stopping 10 of the 12 shooters that he faced.

Oakland head man Sean Hogan was an Assistant Coach for the White team, while senior defenseman Jarrett Samp patrolled the blue line for the Blue team.

Players were treated to dinner at the Hilton Garden Inn where guest speaker and former Stanley Cup Champion Jack Vivian spoke to the dinner guests. All Star players and coaches received stck shafts from Harrow Sports, game pucks, and ACHA Division I All Star team t-shirts.

"It was a great event, and a lot of fun for the players and coaches. I want to thank Brian Moran, Chris Wilk, and every one who helped put a great event together," commented Oakland Head Coach Sean Hogan.

News, Notes and Quotes: Jarrett Samp is the third Oakland player to be named to the ACHA Divison I All Star game. Brent Cooper and Collin Chase were both named to the team in the 2006-2007 season. Sean Hogan is the first OU coach to be named to the team.
