Oakland University Division III Hockey Team is pleased to announce that Troy Barron will take over as Head Coach beginning with the 2009-2010 season.
Barron brings 10 years of coaching experience that have led to a State Championship and Runner Up at Nationals with the USA Eagles Midget AA team and State Champions and Nationals Semi-Finalist with the USA Eagles Pee Wee AA team. Most recent, Barron coaches the Orchard Lake Midget AA team and trains multiple high school teams. Barron currently is Co-Owner of a Sports Management Company, which trains and promotes players to the next level. Barron has assisted in over 200 players achieve their goals of either Juniors, College, or Professional Hockey
Barron played hockey for South St. Paul High School, MN going on to play 3 seasons for St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN; unfortunately his playing career ended with a back injury. After college, Barron moved to Michigan and entered the marketing side of hockey, all the while continuing as a Trainer and Coach for various youth teams throughout the state of Michigan.
