Assistant Coach Mike Janish

Experience:  Coach Mike played in the Western Ontario Junior League (WOJHL), graduating to play DI at the University of Illinois at Chicago (CCHA).  He has been coaching for the past 18 years, developing players and goaltenders.  He, along with Coach Jimmy, run MJJ Hockey which develops and trains goaltenders and players from all ages and levels.

 

Personal:  Coach Mike resides in Royal Oak, Michigan with his wife, Deena, and their daughter Tessa Alexandria.  Coach Mike is also a partner/realtor with JCS Real Estate out of Beverly Hills, Michigan.

Assistant Coach Jim Cariera

Jim grew up in St. Clair Shores, where he started playing hockey at the age of 5. Though his youth career, he won 4 state championships, and 1 National championship. Followed by 4 years of Junior hockey in Ontario. He also won 2 All Ontario championships.

Following his playing days, Jim began working with Planet Hockey School, working with students across the country, totaling over 9000 players. His coaching career began with the Plymouth Whalers Bantam AA hockey club. The second season coaching they won a State Title

Jeff then moved to Dallas where he coached the Plano East High School and Dallas Titans Junior B of the Western States Hockey League. During his first season with the Dallas Titans he moved 6 players to Junior A clubs in the NAHL. He has also served as a scout for the Santa Fe Road Runners.

Jim co-owns MJJ-Hockey.com, where he currently works with teams from house to travel in the Detroit area. As well as Private/Group lessons.

 

Jim has an Advanced Level 4 coaching certification with USA Hockey.

Jim resides in Waterford with wife Sofia and daughter Eriel and son Diezel. Jim and his family are exited about becoming a part of the OU program and look forward to working with the players.
